Antique Victorian washstand – WA & Co., England, circa 1880–1900
A beautiful and authentic Victorian washbowl, made by WA & Co. (William Adams & Co.) at the Greenfields Pottery factory in Staffordshire, England.
The jug has a wavy rim, a classic handle and an elegant multi-colored floral pattern in delicate tones with a warm white glaze. There is natural age-related cracking, which is typical of this era and emphasizes the authenticity of the item.
Originally used with a wash basin before the advent of tap water, the washstand is now a great decorative piece or addition to your collection.
