Antique brass tea box with sailing ship relief
€85,00
Antique brass tea box with sailing ship relief – €85
A charming antique brass tea box or storage box with an embossed nautical and geometric pattern, probably made in England or the Netherlands in the early 20th century (1900-1930).
The front panel has a detailed relief of a sailing ship with waves and seagulls, the sides have ornamental floral and Arabic patterns. The inside is wooden lined, and the box stands on four round brass feet.
Such boxes were popular at the time for storing tea or tobacco, as well as as a nautical-themed interior design element. The combination of brass and pewter suggests craftsmanship, not mass production.
